HER PATH TO TAYLOR: “I’m
from Sugar Land, TX, and I started
training at Kinard Dance School,
doing ballet, tap and jazz. I went to
Harvard University, where I studied
chemical and physical biology, and
that’s when I first took modern dance
classes. One year I went to a winter
intensive at The Taylor School and
completely fell in love with the style.
I danced with Taylor 2 from 2008 to
2012 and then went back to Harvard
for medical school. But after three
years in med school, my gut told
me I needed to audition for PTDC.
I missed it.”
WHAT SHE LOVES ABOUT
PAUL TAYLOR’S WORK:
“Connecting with people onstage.
You get to make eye contact and be
a human instead of a ‘performer.’ ”
FAVORITE TAYLOR PIECE: “It’s
a tie between Last Look and Runes.
I love the darker pieces. They pull
something out of me, and watching
the work, you can really see the
